- Premium furrow closing: aggressive, but controlled
- Creates excellent zone for seedling emergence &
strong roots
- Positive closing for resilient low-OM soils in early
& mid-term no-till
- Spokes cut cleanly thru the sidewall
- Shattered furrow sidewall is pushed into the furrow
- Independent arms allow closing wheels to hug terrain
The Thompson
wheel page discussed the value of having the spoked closing
wheel angled to the direction of travel (toe-out) to be more aggressive
in pulling soil back into the furrow. Another method is to also
increase the camber (the tilting from vertical), while moving the
wheel closer to the furrow. Exapta’s Hagny HCS™ brackets
create this angle and alignment. Only the Hagny high-camber spoke
(HCS) system closes the furrow by slicing completely thru the sidewall,
not squeezing or lifting. The spokes carry the fragmented soil into
the furrow, depositing them neatly. The result is highly aggressive
but extremely controlled furrow closing—no flinging of chunks
of sidewall, and no lifting of sidewall which risks disrupting seed
placement. Improve your consistency of achieving target plant populations,
decrease your seed costs, and enhance your yield potential. Hagny
HCS will gently close the furrow when nothing else can!
