The Thompson wheel page discussed the value of having the spoked closing wheel angled to the direction of travel (toe-out) to be more aggressive in pulling soil back into the furrow. Another method is to also increase the camber (the tilting from vertical), while moving the wheel closer to the furrow. Exapta’s Hagny HCS™ brackets create this angle and alignment.
